I haven't got mine yet; was in the first group to order, AFAIK. KL

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

They're certainly around in the UK - my dealer has had two batches already, but they're expecting a pause before the next batch.

I spent a happy hour with a cup of coffee at Robert White playing with an x100 - it is certainly an object of desire, although possibly not a camera I actually need!

Perhaps the wait will make the pleasure more intense when it arrives!

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Terry, I've decided to wait and see on this one. Between the GH2 and the K5 I have plenty to keep me busy. I can always make a trip to Precision in Austin to hold one of these guys sometime in the future. No one in Dallas carries them... but they are sexy little things.

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Terry -

None here in Hawaii. There were rumors that we were getting some "first" because of the local camera store owner's relationship to Fuji.

I don't think I'll be jumping into the fray this go-around since I just picked up a K-5.....but I guess I'll still stay in the queue.

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

I got mine this week. So far it looks great. It is a delight to hold. It just feels right. I haven't had a chance to really use it yet but initial impressions of image quality are good.

I didn't buy the case. I'm hoping that Artist and Artisan brings one out. The Fuji one looked very ordinary.

Hi Rich
My situation exactly (staying in the queue). I got the call for one just the other day, but asked to be pushed down the list until next time. Still considering, and also still trying to make the most of the K5.

Good luck with your delivery Terry

all the best

How about some particulars -- where did your X100 arrive from, and on what date was it ordered?

The expensive way. Bought directly from Yodobashi in Japan. Ordered Wednesday. Arrived Monday in San Francisco.

Certainly more complex than lifting the M9 to your eye and shooting but very nice to look through a nice bright optical viewfinder.

Cool!

Hmm ... I'd love to see it. Are you going to be down this way or available any time soon for lunch or coffee?

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Read this whole thread before placing an order. I say read the whole thing because there is some contradictory info.
The contact person at Yodobashi speaks english. Email her first.
Mine got delayed at customs and a weird FCC form had to be filled out.....and you needed a harmonic code. I will grab my form and post the code. THIS IS NOT CHEAP!

Thanks for the info Terry.

And you are right, it's not cheap! Almost X1 territory there!

So they did take your American credit card?

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Sorry I haven't posted much....I've only taken about 25 shots since getting the camera. A lot going on at work with a flooded office, our leadership in town for client events, and losing my voice for the last two days.

Here is one from today (through glass). Welcome to San Francisco. Top of the Fairmont Hotel
I should have some time on Sunday to really work wiyh it .

@Terry - so jealous ... of the X100 ... and of where you live! My only comforting thought is that I don't have to pay state income taxes.

Terry,

Congrats for the new X100 and very nice first image post. Just read MR's follow up comments concerning moire with the X100. I couldn't see any in your image, but would expect it to be there in those repeating window patterns. Is there any moire evident at 100% view? I didn't realize that Fuji made the X100 without an AA filter. Great if that is true.

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Hi Carl -
The shot looks good a 100%. In reducing it down it does look a little weird around a bunch of the window. I'm also only working of jpegs until I have something other than jpegs to work with.
After this weekend, I'd be happy to post a bunch of full files for people to have a look at.

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

What I'm interested to hear is how the Fuji X100 compares to the Leica X1 with accessory viewfinder fitted, now that the latter's v2 firmware is out.

I'm not too concerned one way or the other with image quality ... I suspect both do very well on that front. It's the ergonomics and feel in use that are the interesting part to me.

Anyone able to comment on that yet?

Re: Any more forum members get their X100

Godfry- I have used both the X1 and the X100 (on the same shoot even), but alas without the OVF on the X1. However, I can't in a milllion years imaging it besting the X100's OVF. The thing is just so dang fun to shoot with.

I would be frustrated not having shooting data in the viewfinder on the X1, although I'm sure some enjoy the simplicity of that view...
