Both Canon and Minolta used 5D too. It depends how well Leica has protected themselves. On the other hand, I would be a bit surprised if Fuji can't come up with something different for a name.

Well, I can think of many choice names to replace the X1 if that is an exclusive right of some one.

What is fascinating is the talk of this "organic" sensor. The name is a misnomer.
Most are, in fact, very carcinogenic. Almost as potent as the stuff that would come out an automobile exhaust without a catalytic converter.

These (organic sensor components) are synthetic chemicals (plastic components) that are far removed from "organic" as in an organic vegetable. I had spent most of my academic life on such. Good to see them coming into application, in what seems to be a very short time after the advent of "organic" LEDs (OLEDs). The OLEDs components are pretty similar in terms of electricity being converted to light (and vice versa in an "organic" sensor).

Apparently and not surprisingly, Panasonic also has a patent on these "organic" sensors.

The spectacularly colored "polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons" or "graphenes' as they are now called- ranging from bright yellow to very deep red- or even some chocolate colored fullerenes are not, unfortunately, edible.

For efficient light to electricity conversion, most would have to be black or near black.
