I assume it is a LEICA . I think it would be nice to add some data , like , what brand , when it was built and if the camera is still in working order . At least when showing vintage gear . Thank you .

My trusty M8, getting used again since my M9 have been proven to be less trusty.

Shot with the humble DLUX3.

It was my fault . Thinking back , I realized that I erased the image in my gallery and subsequently the image is also deleted in the thread . Sorry .

That M4-2 must have had a hard working life and surely has deserved a pensioners life now .
She seems to be in still working order .

Re: Portraits of Your Gear

I just received a Summarex 8.5cm f/1.5 from gogopix. It is mounted on my iiig. The Summarex is vintage 1951 and the iiig is vintage 1956/1957. I'm not a collector, I'm a user, and will be using the Summarex on the iiig and other cameras.

Re: Portraits of Your Gear

Vintage gear are, themselves, works of art. These are a pair of Leica IIs, one chrome and one black, with a hexanon 35/2 on one, and a summicron 35/2 on the other.

Woody, No, I didn't buy your Summarex. I'm sure it is still somewhere in this community. I did have another Summarex, but it came from a dealer.

Hey Cindy, its fun getting back to basics, and these cameras are not too expensive (at least relatively speaking)!

That summarex looks like a hefty piece of glass, and the red looks great against the chrome!

The ancestor of Sony's SLT cameras, the Canon Pellix. All of mine are still fully functional (the one on the left is unused and brand new) with intact mirrors, but many others have darkened or been destroyed over the years. I wonder how the new Sony SLT's will fare with time? - Christopher

Re: Portraits of Your Gear

This is my smallest MF camera . A WELTA/WELTAX .
I don't know when it was built but I believe it must have been shortly after WW2 . It is in fully working order and has already a CZ Jena TESSAR lens .
Have a look to the release button . Isn't that nice .

All these wonderful LEICA's make me dizzy , but up to now , I could fight down the temptation .

Ha the mighty Summarex ! Making the Nocti a lightweight in comparison ...
BTW I've replaced the hood with a B+W ∅58mm alu tele-hood.
Anyway, you got yourself a cool combo, Cindy

All the very best.

Shot with the Hassy 503CW/CFV16, fill from a softbox.

Thanks. Envying your lens collection . I kind of looked around on eBay and didn't see any CFV 16s. Won't be buying anytime soon, but was curious about prices. Does the 500c/m trigger the DB without a sync cord?

Heh, thanks.

CFV backs are rare, but they pop up from time to time. Patience is definitely required... I do believe the 500 triggers the back (I got mine with a 500C/M and why I'm selling the body as I have a 503CW).

Look what arrived here today. The lens I found new-in-box last year, and has been used as standard lens on the GH1. The camera arrived from down under thanks to a very friendly guy

Whoa, congratulations on your new purchase, Jorgen.
What a beautiful and compact 24x36mm format camera, obviously from the days when there were still true designers.
I‘d love to see a digital version of that design, 24x36mm format of course

I have already shown my own F3 elsewhere, but I think it belongs in this thread as well.

click for larger - in some browsers F11 deactivates and again activates <-> menu lines
