    Fun with Panasonic 100-300

Here's a picture of an elk that I took on the way home from Edmonton to Jasper. Had to walk in a bit to see a group of Elk resting near the bank of a river. Not the best angle for lighting, but it was nice to see a group in a more natural setting, rather than seeing some by the side of a...

Would love to see some pictures you took when you get a moment to post some here. Or, come to think of it, I could not be so lazy and I could just have a look at your flickr pics! :-)

Thought I'd bump this thread with a picture of a Rufous hummingbird I took at a local nature park near Vancouver, BC. I wish I would have shot with a higher shutter speed, but I didn't realize until too late I had forgotten to dial it up from 1/300. GH2 - ƒ/5.6 300.0 mm, 1/1300, ISO 400.

Here's a shot of a Sandhill Crane I took the other day at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary near Vancouver, BC. Was with my GH2, at ISO 400, 300mm, f/8 and 1/1000. The bird let me get pretty close (well, really close - at one point he was eating from my hand). Sandhill Crane Close-up by BJ East, on...
