    New Sigma DP Merrill's?

Well this new design certainly seems to be polarising opinion, lots of haters over at FM, however I think the design looks fresh and interesting and was going to hold off completing my set with a DP1M until I saw the price mentioned above, Now I'm not sure what to do!

    DP Merrill color Landscapes

The monsoon is now pretty much over in Mumbai and I'm heading to the South of France for a month and so anticipate some nice autumn colour landscapes with my DP's, and a rather different vibe! Anyway, heres a couple from just post monsoon Maharashtra: Kharghar Hill 5TITLED by Jeaunse23, on...

    DP Merrill color Landscapes

Although I have the '2' and the '3' I'm finding I use the '3' for landscapes most, something a little more pleasing about the perspective it gives and if I want a wider angle of view then theres always PT Gui... Who is going to win the ultra wide angle battle? D800E vs Sigma SD1 Merrill...

My understanding is that one of the reasons the DPXM's, are such fabulous performers is that the lens is matched to the sensor ( see also Sony RX1). It therefore seems to me that the performance of the SD1M plus lens is likely to be (somewhat) inferior to it's compact bretheren. Has anyone...

    all dp2 merrill users

Although I have not used the Carryspeed device, I must say that I regularly use a Hoodman loupe and I find that it does not allow any stray light in if well attached to the camera. For critical focus on a tripod I find it excellent, the limiting factor is the less-than- optimal resolution of the...

    Lenshood for Sigma DP3M

Can anybody help me locate a Sigma lenshood for the DP3M? Someone who will deliver to France? Clifton cameras ( Bristol UK) has (had?) but will not send one to me here in France because it's not my personal address. If I can't get hold of one, any suggestions for a generic? Thanks in advance...

    Why I actually LIKE SPP...

Aside from the speed, I have very few issues with this software, I have sharpness set to minus 0.4 and occasionally mess with the white balance but for me, like Peter, that moment when the full glory of the file is revealed for the first time is utter magic.

Hi Sapphie, Not sure about 'pleasurable'. But it makes the use of the camera in bright sunlight easier and I do find it useful for critical focussing when stacking for macro's for example. I have one loupe and attach it to my '2' and '3' with three rubber bands - it goes on and off easily and...

    Sigma DP3M

The Hoodman is not a general panacea of course, however, it serves the dual purposes of shielding the not-particularly-glare-resistant display from the sun and helping to judge critical focus. Still not easy ( or foolproof) but better than without.

    Sigma DP3M

She was buzzing about in our kitchen this morning, I set manual focus and with a Hoodman loupe attached, got as close as I could. I got three decent shots and about 20 out of focus before she flew off. Tabanus sps 1 by Jeaunse23, on Flickr

    Hoodman Loupe or Sigma Viewfinders?

I pretty much always use the Hoodman, on and off tripod. It is attached to my DP2 and3M's with elastic bands, which may not look particularly elegant but works extremely well.
