How Can We Help GetDPI Stay Alive

Keeping off spammers can be easy, but it takes alert moderation. A couple of other forums that I moderate have as simple system: all first posts go into the moderation queue and have to be approved by a moderator, which is a one-click choice -the forum software does the rest, I am confident...

    Leica Digilux2 or 3 Suggestions

The Digilux 2 is still a very attractive camera, with lovely results at base ISO, provided you don't want to make large prints. I wouldn't bother with a Digilux3, it was an unwieldy lump when it came out and is really obsolete by now.

Is this normal? 1100 bucks for repairing a R lens?

I think you'll find that DAG does not do most repairs on APO lenses. At least the parts for this lens are still available. Many R lenses cannot be repaired at all.

Please Leica DONT let the T dye!

Which, for the M (and most likely the Q), Sony was unable to supply... Sony makes great sensors, but their development is obviously geared to their own needs, and maybe Nikon's, but they will certainly not put their resources towards developing products for somebody else's niche...

Sent my M240 to DAG Camera

And that was exactly what I’m saying. There is a vast difference between adjusting cameras in a production process and doing so on an individual basis. A sensor adjustment - that must done by Leica, as it takes a laser measuring device, but the rangefinder itself is virtually DIY.

Sent my M240 to DAG Camera

Sorry, this is nonsense. Any technician will calibrate the system to the common standard. Otherwise one could not use another lens or body on it. In fact, nowadays technicians will use an M240 body and EVF to adjust lenses. Will van Manen told me he finds that even more exact than his 60 cm...

:ROTFL::ROTFL::ROTFL:How true... Fortunately I have some affinity with the German way of thinking that many Anglophones lack...:D

Looking for a perspective from those who used to shoot Leica M and have moved on...

I have really good A2 prints from the M8, AKA 12 Mp. Just crunching the numbers of pixel count and DPI does not relate to the real world of printing. There are aspects like viewing distance and the (lack of) resolving power of the human eye to be taken into consideration. Not to mention the...

The New LEICA M-P: Discreet, Faster, Harder

I do not have a problem with that. Rather the opposite. It is just that the term Review is somewhat confusing when it starts doing the rounds on the internet. Maybe Advertorial is more descriptive. Or a milder Infotorial.

    Need help: MM & IR

If you want to use an 093 you are better off with an M8, which is a considerably more effective IR camera than the MM or M9. The M 240 is slightly more IR sensitive than the M240, so you might get away with a 093 there as well. The M8 blocks 50% of IR light, the M240 80 % and the M240 at a guess...
