    MATE E55 vs E49 difference?

I have the later E49 version of the MATE. The later version is supposed to have a better focusing mechanism than the older one. It is quite sharp, and renders nicely without excessive bite. There is some barrel distortion at 28mm, but is easily fixed in LR or PS when objectionable. Strong...

    can this be fixed

Steven, It only takes a minute to remove the ca with Photoshop. Use hue/saturation layer, select the offending magenta color with the eyedroper, and reduce saturation. All fixed just that quickly! Dale

S2 Chromatic Aberration - how big an issue is it?

Here's a suggestion for eliminating fringing is Lightroom: Make any changes or corrections you desire, then apply Defringe to all edges. Leica M9 Firmware 1.116 available

Hello All, Has anyone else noticed an undesirable change in the display on the LCD? My camera's display was so fuzzy after the update that I thought I was OOF. Couldn't believe it was THAT bad. I had sense enough to download the old firmware before updating, so I reloaded the old. and...

How useful is Thumbs Up and/or Beep Boop Bip

I'll also recommend the Thumbs Up. It is a nice replacement for the film advance lever that I miss on the M8. (Not for winding, but rather for counteracting the downward thrust. Especially with the jerky release in the M8. ) With the Thumbs Up, a soft release button and good technique, you can...

How about more and more fun with Leica M? (Film)

Cindy: Thanks for the welcome. I've been here all along enjoying the info, chatter and photos, but haven't posted before. I took these photos when I was much younger. The market was located in downtown, Columbus, Ohio, open on Saturday only, and was quite busy. Many people rode the bus downtown...

Re: How about more and more fun with Leica M? Greetings to all. These were shot with an M3 with 50 Cron or 85 Nikkor on Ilford FP3 at the downtown street market 50 years ago.
