Is SL2 Stills or Video viewable on an External HDMI monitor

I have an Atomos Shinobi monitor and was attempting to use it with a SL2. My goal is to be able to view the Live View while shooting stills and or Video, not to record to the external monitor (like using a Ninja V).

So far, I can't get anything to show up on the Shinobi. I have tried several different cables and on the monitor it shows no HDMI input.

Doing a google search netted not too much, only that some users are able to use the Ninia V but that is a recording monitor. I am only wishing to view, to offset the issue of no tilting LCD on the camera.

Has anyone been able to send the HDMI output from the camera to an external monitor, and if so, what is your setup.

Thanks
Paul

The Type A HDMI cable allows the connection of the Leica SL to external equipment with HDMI ports. Leica SL2 It's your choice.

I only have a Ninja V and I can view and send screen data on every camera I own to it. I assume the same is true for the SL2. I don’t have the Shinobi but I’d guess it was the same without recording. If not maybe give it a few weeks because a new Ninja V should be announced soon. The old ones will probably be sold for less to clear inventory space.

I got it working, may have been a bad cable, actually two. With a couple of new cables I have it working with the Shinobi. Two bad that there is no type of screen/camera communication that allows full operation of all features that are on the camera LCD. I knew going into the purchase I would not prefer not having a tilting LCD as I prefer one.
