The problem i have with the 5d2 is tonal graduation and when it heads towards clipping it is abrupt, harsh and ugly. I am looking at purchasing something like this Mamiya 645 DF Aptus II 28MP Back 80mm F2 8 Lens | eBay
It seems like good value, though i dont want to spend the money if im not going to see a noteable improvememnt from my 5d2 and tonal graduations like in film.
Im finding it quite hard to find some good info and whether it would be a good choice.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Shelby. I was wonderinging if you could point me in the right direction. I started a thread here: http://www.getdpi.com/forum/medium-f...tml#post504189
A user, Fotografz, suggested i get in contact with you as i am looking to purchase my first MFD setup and the back was is the Aptus II 28mp. Fotografz thought you used that back and might be able to give me some insight.
Currently i shoot transperancy film on a 617 camera as well as use a 5d2. I shoot mainly landscape photography, and while i love film, the dynamic range is slightly limiting, not to mention the long process from getting it developed, scanned and on top of that, hoping it was exposed correctly in the first place.
hey there - is your leaf aptus 22 still available? I saw a posting on that. shopping for a digital back, that's one i'm considering.
I'm also trying to figure out if there is a mount for this back and the Cambo ultima 23 if you have any insight on that. there's a mamiya 645AFD interface plate.
