Re: Hasselblad CFV-16 : is it still worth spending the money?

1. People buy it for collection value.

This "people" would buy one to use, but the price is still too high. It is worth a lot of money in comparison to other 16 Mega Pixel backs, probably due to...

Re: CFV50c or not!

The US dollars quoted on a google search of "currency exchange" shows a value of $9,818.63. That is the very close to the price I stated in my original post I would feel comfortable paying. So, can...

Re: CFV50c or not!

Your analysis is quite correct, and so it does not make business sense (since most are amateurs) for them to pay $15,500.00 for a digital back. But for serious amateurs it may make sense to invest...

Re: CFV50c or not!

Of course you would. I would look into Phase too. Hasselblad is bad, bad, bad!

CFV50c or not!

The CFV50c back is one I would like to own. But, with a price almost twice that of an entire camera and back in the Pentax, I am going to pass. Evidently Hasselblad made a choice between selling...

Re: HB H5X announced

A software update is probably forthcoming that will allow the H3X and H4X cameras to be compatible as well. At least that is being hinted on another forum.

Re: HB H5X announced

Call me cynical, but the only reason may be that Phase is f i n a l l y coming out with the, years in the making, camera. But, who knows, maybe Hasselblad has at last put someone in charge...

Pramote,

Here's my version. Mine could be cropped a little better, I guess.

Re: Advice on getting into Digital MF

After using a Hasselblad 500 C/M with a CFV 16 and an H4D60, I would recommend choice #4. Auto focus is so useful, and the ergonomics as well as the features of the H system camera can't be matched....

Re: Old school (M4) or new school (M240)?

I don't know Will. About 40 years ago, my boss went to some kind of Nikon school. After he got back he was a way, way better photographer. Just my observation.

Re: CFV-50c !!

At $15,000.00 it is about double the price it should be. How can Pentax with an entire camera and the same sensor, sell theirs at half the price of the CFV-50CII? As much as I'd like to have this...

Re: Excited About My New Hasselblad H3D2-31

Dive in. You'll find it pretty easy. You will also find that you can hide the features that you do not use that frequently. You may find some help on Youtube that could be useful.

Re: Excited About My New Hasselblad H3D2-31

Congratulations on your new camera. As for this being your "Forever" camera, I doubt it. Medium Format Digital kind of sucks you in. The small learning curve for Phocus is well worth it in the...

If I were you, I wouldn't rule out the H3D22 or the P21. There is a whole thread on fat pixel" digital backs on this forum that you might want to consult. There is some sort of magic for me with...

Re: Need CF card recovery advice for S2 images!

After an unfortunate incident with my CFV16, I started taking 25-30 images and changing CF cards on my H4D60. Between changes, I'd make sure the images were actually there before proceeding to the...

Re: H4D-60, The Future of Hasselblad, and Always Waiting For the Next Big Thing

Personally, I don't see a reason why Sony would buy Hasselblad, or for that matter why Fuji would either. Too bad we don't have a photo enthusiast with a boat load of money to buy Hasselblad.

Re: H4D-60, The Future of Hasselblad, and Always Waiting For the Next Big Thing

NickT should write a synopsis of the history of Hasselblad starting with the introduction of the H line of cameras. Then when he sees inaccurate information he could copy and paste it for this and...

Re: H4D-60, The Future of Hasselblad, and Always Waiting For the Next Big Thing

Hey Steve. Take it from me. There is definitely a Phase bias on this forum. But that is OK with me. Most of us understand this and accept it for what it is. In life we see bias in most areas,...

Love the image, but I love, love, love that pickup. If my three garages were not full and one sitting outside, I'd have one.

I also print medium format on an Epson large format printer. No matter if I print 35mm or MFD, I am always amazed by the finished print. However, the way Hasselblad handles colors make them even...
