Help needed for the processing of this pic

Hi !

Can I ask all the specialists here, to give me some advice on correcting this pic. A friend of mine gave it to me, hoping that I would be able to adjust the way the face is rendered by the partially sunny light.

To no avail, unfortunately, I cannot get anything better out of it.

This is a crop of just the face, how would you tackle this ???

TIA for your assistance !
Rafael

My .02,

Dodge/burn/smooth and turn into a B&W. Here is a 3 minute work-up, obviously need to spend more time on an original file, but this gives you an idea:

Re: Help needed for the processing of this pic

I agree with Jack on this. Black & White is the best way to go as there's just too much of a difference in brightness on her face. I tried but bombed to correct the color so here's by stab at B&W.

Re: Help needed for the processing of this pic

thank you, Jack and Don !

The track down the B&W lane I had not considered yet, but I will give it a try and see if Claude is happier with a B&W result than with a half-hearted colour pic.
