Re: Photographing your Bokeh

Thanks Abbazz!

Did you move the camera while shooting or is this the actual bokeh?
Would like to see a sample without a busy foreground to better see how it renders.
I can see a little of it on the last photo on the left. It is a nice fast lens.

I didn't move the camera, I only focused the lens in front of the subject (it's easy to do at it has a minimum focus of 0.35m). This tiny Olympus wonder is also much smaller and lighter than a lens designed for 35mm. Here it is mounted on my E-P1 -- the picture should be acceptable here, as it has a large out of focus area :

You can find a few pictures taken with this lens on my Zenfolio gallery but the first 13 pictures were taken when the lens was still suffering from a bad case of element separation. The subsequent pictures where taken after applying my magical heat treatment. And sorry for the off-topic, guys .

Cheers!

Much as I love black and white, this version I prefer. Not sure about the title though, the street below does look dry ...
My title would be "Condensed Buildings"

Zenitar 16mm/2.8

I've just received my Zenitar 16mm/2.8 M42 mount lens, purchased for the Italian tilt adapter that has been discussed in earlier posts.
I think this lens will be useful for blenders and bokehgraphers - here is a test picture. Taken on the G1 and at aperture 2.8.

Thanks Leica:

I did this on my mission of doing a "bokeh a day" in Europe last year. I thought that the Holiday Inn sign had potential!

I travel again in five weeks and I'm setting the same goal - a "bokeh a day"

Hi Keith,
Now I can see "HO" of the Holiday Inn sign. It is good to set some realistic and attainable goals such as a "bokeh a day". In my future travels, I will do the same ... As you do, I will take a couple of my favorite bokeh lenses to some faraway places planned for this spring. Best regards, Leica 77.

Thanks

The 200mm f/5.6 works OK but having the point sources of light at night helps.

It is a sculpture made of rope lights like the stuff you use for Christmas lights.

Thanks Michiel - yes, it is my Pentax bokeh lens.

Taken at Sochi in Russia. To get the color I had to blow out a bit of detail in the trees. But, I like it this way.

Cheers

I like the square format and the double line bokeh (looks like the front legs of a mystical horse in the bottom left)

Good to see the image here, Michiel. I'm looking into getting this lens myself.

Here is a "software" bokehgraph (FocalPoint 2) - I think the Canon 85 is in their library!
