    Fun with Nikon Images

Re: Fun with the D600! Benroy's garden shots called to me... and here are 4 images with the D600. The first 2 with the double glass optic by Lensbaby, the lizard with the nikkor 24 2.8 and the last one with the nikkor 50 1.8. They are part of a larger collection of 46 images which are going...

    New Camera (D600) Workflow Question

I'm very likely to go for the D600 and for those on the board with experience with new cameras... a workflow question. I am assuming that Lightroom will not read D600 .nef files until the next update of Lightroom 4. So that in the near term it seems to leave several options. 1. shoot jpg...

Time Lapse - D5000... Just Amazing

I appreciate the lead. A quick MC-36 question. With the on-camera intervalometer you are restricted to 999 intervals... and with 30 sec exposures this reduces the total number of exposures to 33. With the MC-36 how many exposures of 30 sec each can I make? I also use the mirror lockup...

Time Lapse - D5000... Just Amazing

Over the last two nights I worked to create a star-trail video. I was having trouble mixing the long exposure (30sec) with the on-board intervalometer. Ultimately, I concluded that there simply is an upper limit to the in camera intervalometer. This limited me to a 15 minute run which created...

Time Lapse - D5000... Just Amazing

I have continued to work on time lapse photography... and as with all things the more you get into it the more there is to learn. I have a new time lapse video up on youtube here. Please take a look and you will see considerable improvement over my first effort. First... it is possible to use...

Time Lapse - D5000... Just Amazing

As a recovering Leica shooter I have been gradually exploring some of the goodies buried in the menu's of the Nikon D5000. I had seen somewhere a clip about how to make time lapse videos and so yesterday set out to make one. Amazing... easy and fun... the camera and software worked...

    D600 What do you think?

Without having the camera in my hand... the form factor seems right for the kind of work I like doing.

    D600 What do you think?

Thanks for the pointer Roger... and gentlemen. The specs seem to be getting better as the announcement date approaches. Great price point, especially for the non-pro but keen amateur (semi-pro). I'd pre-order but I don't know where... only a couple of weeks now.

    D600 What do you think?

It looks near certain that Nikon will announce the D600 prior to Photokina. Rumors has pics and projected specs here. Full frame, 24 MP's but at a cost 1/2 of the D800... Just for fun, what do you Nikon hands think of this?

    Fun with Nikon Images

Many thanks Loyd for the words. Were you with the University... Here are a couple of others from the same collection. Both Nikon D5000, Long exposures, ND filter and shot with a 35mm f1.8. Again many thanks for looking and especially for any comments you might care to make.

    Leica M9 Oregon workshop photos

Thanks Mike, It does help... The max size I print is 17x22. At what size would the M9 show a readily apparent advantage? Oh... again, for a true MF camera... will the resolution difference be observable on a computer screen... or just on a larger print? Many thanks for you taking these...

    Leica M9 Oregon workshop photos

Hey Mike, Wonderful photographs. I'm especially partial to your BW surf images. The sunsets are just sublime. A quick question... is it my imagination or do the images seem more detailed, crisper perhaps than M8 files. Can you see the results of the additional resolution on a computer screen...

Convert an M8 to a B&W only camera?

Hi nei1, This may be a bit off topic as other posters have pointed to a hardware modification. I have found that when you put the M8 in BW mode shooting jpegs and boost the iso... say beyond 640 when you process the image you get a fabulous grain and a very satisfactory BW image. The image...

    Lightroom cropping masks

    Apple Photobooth... just fun

This is really neat and weird stuff. I wonder if it is possible to get the Photobooth to accept photographs taken externally?
