Multi Row Panoramas. Biggest issue is D.O.F.

I guess what I find confusing about the diagrams is the perspective introduced by the rendering. In reality, all the rectangles would be the same size and whatever distortion is recorded is because of the relative distance of the subject to the sensor plane. Can that be illustrated? An example...

Then there is this lens, but the angle of view limits the width of the panorama:

Multi Row Panoramas. Biggest issue is D.O.F.

Short of acquiring a technical camera, I think I'll stick with the 24mm on my Leica S3.

Multi Row Panoramas. Biggest issue is D.O.F.

I realized after I made the post that it would introduce multiple vanishing points, something that may or may not be noticeable of correctable. However, a tilt-shift lens shifted all the way in one direction, then the other or the camera rotated 180º around the sensor axis could produce a decent...

Multi Row Panoramas. Biggest issue is D.O.F.

Never done this, but would a sliding mount like this allow flat stitching for very little investment?

Best publisher to approach for photo-book

Good points. Here in the US, galleries mark-up 100% (or charge a 50% commission, however you'd like to look at it). Plus, the artist is responsible for framing and shipping the art to the gallery in most cases. Cafés are a good option, too, usually easier to get into and better-lit. Another way...

    Behind the scenes

When I use the Hensel Porty 1200, it has a dedicated remote that is made by Pocket Wizard and is also low-profile, with no antenna sticking out. As a bonus, I can adjust the pack's power levels from the remote.

    Behind the scenes

It is a Pocket Wizard Mini TT1 transmitter, used in conjunction with a Flex TT5 transceiver connected to the strobe power pack. Designed to work with Nikon cameras (there is a Canon version, too) and speedlights so you can control them from the camera in automatic and manual modes. But I just...

    Hasselblad quality

Depends if it still under warranty. Or at least when it was sent in.

Dealing with UPS and a warning about sending cameras to the USA

I have had a number of bad experiences with UPS damaging items. The most outrageous was a piece of artwork that had obviously had another heavy object dropped on top of it, leaving a big gash in the packaging. The driver just left it at the doorway and bolted. On the other hand, I once...

    Behind the scenes

Since this is the Behind the scenes thread, I thought I'd post the set-up I use for this series of shots. Different subject, different camera, pretty much the same set-up though:

Dealing with UPS and a warning about sending cameras to the USA

I believe the claim is between Hasselblad and UPS, since they are the sender. You might be able to get Hasselblad to make good on replacing the camera.

    Funny. I made this shot last year. Leica S 006. S 120mm 2.5.

    Aptus Internal battery

My Leaf Aptus is not Phase one. That could mean it was made before 94, but the other early dates are a bit of a mystery for me.

    Aptus Internal battery

BTW, my Aptus back seems to date shots randomly. Mostly 1979, some 1976, 1969, even 2097. Since the .mos files are useless to me, when I process them in C1 a more reasonable date is assigned to the file.

    Aptus Internal battery

I believe the back still numbers the shots sequentially, at least for the session. That should be enough to display them in order.

    Aptus Internal battery

I wouldn't bother. My mechanical Karma is bad, there is more risk than reward for me. I really don't care if the image has the correct date and time. I have been able to live without it for film, I can do without for my Aptus files.

The great tripod & head thread!

In the studio, I prefer a camera pedestal stand. It takes about the same floor space as a large tripod, is very easy to move around and height adjustment is a breeze. Stable, heavy and expensive.

Fuji GFX 100s: Blurred image parts

Not sure why requesting help from the dealer or manufacturer seems to have struck a nerve. After all, they should be the ultimate authority on their product. And enabled the ruling out of a defect sooner, rather than the endless speculation of a forum.
