A bit of a crazy piece of kit

Interesting. The price is silly, however. Does anyone else remember Mark Tucker’s Plungercam? https://web.archive.org/web/20080126115436/https://www.marktucker.com/plungercam/

Does a camera design influence (dictate) shooting style?

The aspect ratio is different, as well, which may have an impact on perceptions.

    Hasselblad 100C and 35XL

There are other variants of the chip, including monochrome options. This one seems to have no PDAF. There may be color, PDAF-free options available, or Sony would make one for a price, presumably.

IQ 60MP VS 100MP (color comparison only)

Jim Kasson is pretty knowledgeable on color - have you read his posts? “There are some — not me — who believe that CCD sensors yield better color. The Leica M8 has such a sensor…” https://blog.kasson.com/the-last-word/visible-noise-and-cfa-filter-spectra-part-one/Interesting article

Newly purchased GFX100S has red tint

I was speaking about issues related to the failure of a particular unit, which happens with mature product lines as well as new ones. There are variances in every product line, and out-of-spec samples can get through most QC systems.

Newly purchased GFX100S has red tint

This is not a sound assumption. Faults in products follow a “U” shape. High at the beginning, when a product is new, and may exhibit issues related to QC, etc. Low, at the bottom of the “U”, once any of those issues have been fixed, then higher at the product’s end of life.

The XCD 90V isn't just Hasselblad's finest lens – it could be the finest lens we've ever tested

Sigma pushed the limit on weight-be-damned, fast, well-corrected lenses, but I take your point. More recently, the “I Series” lenses, which are premium, slower, compact primes are interesting.

The XCD 90V isn't just Hasselblad's finest lens – it could be the finest lens we've ever tested

Roger Cicala’s team at Lens Rentals runs MTF tests on more lenses than anyone else in the world, I suspect. They test at least ten copies of each lens model and analyze the variances, and concluded IIRC, Canon was the tightest. Their podcasts, sadly discontinued, are very entertaining and...
