Panoramic Images with the IQ4 while on the Field?

If budget allows, the Alpa system is fantastic for panos. I used the STC and multi shot panos were a piece of cake with it. You can use the gearing for precise movements, or there’s a little switch you can flip to unlock the gear and freely move it left/right from center with ease until you lock...

So, who is buying a Alpa these days?

im 41, but regardless of age, am yet to meet a photog in real life that knows what Alpa is.

So, who is buying a Alpa these days?

I received great service from Alpa when I needed it and they were always very responsive via email. Forum sponsor CI did the same. Some things re: service are out of all tech cam manufacturers hands right now, SK lens parts, copal shutters, etc... I had planned for my own Alpa journey to be...

    Phase One IQ5 – Sony 247 MPX – 3:2 – will you get it?

I'd also like for a continuation of the "infinity platform" mantra, things like in camera LCC application would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. I don't think P1 did themselves any favors long term with customers utilizing marketing language like that, at least they didn't with me. As...

So, who is buying a Alpa these days?

I really enjoyed the Alpa system when I used it. I have a print with the STC and IQ4A I have in my house (that was also exhibited at a local museum for a few months), and I had some ppl over this weekend for my son's bday party and some other photogs were commenting on how amazing the print...

    New Hasselblad XCD 20-35/3.2-4.5

I'm just happy to see a new lens from HB, and I imagine it'd be fun to shoot with.

    New Hasselblad XCD 20-35/3.2-4.5

I've been a lot happier with my gear, and photography has been a lot more fun, after adopting this mentality years ago. To each their own of course....

    FOMO

I've pretty much cleared out my closet except for a Fuji X-T3 and 18-55 zoom. Wasn't using the gear, so sold pretty much all of it and went over to other hobbies. I'll get back into it some day....I sure do miss the STC/40HR/70HR/IQ4 Achro kit....and the Hassy X kit for that matter.

    Who is the GFX for?

If only Fuji would update their UI....I don't have a GFX but I use the Fuji X-system and it's dreadful. If only one could use the Fuji GF lenses on the Hassy X too. I wish Hassy would come out with a GF-mount 907x body for use with the CFV-100c for the GF-TS and longer lenses. Fuji has...

    Who is the X2D for?

no prob! Can’t argue there. this IQ4 150 achro print in my house makes me happy every time I walk by. It got to be exhibited in a local museum for a months too. Was happy others got to enjoy the print for what it was! It’s next to a wall of prints from hasselblads and Sony’s and Nikons and I...

    Who is the X2D for?

Id add the X2D if money weren’t an option and I was hanging on to the Sony setup. The UI for the HB is one of the best out there, I love the simplicity, and I love the IQ from the lenses. The Sony would fill any gaps in performance/lens lineup left by the HB, and some of the advantages in my...

    Who is the X2D for?

The only thing remaining I'd like to see with the X2D is a longer zoom to accompany the 35-75, like a 75-150. Hopefully I'm not alone there.

Fun with MF Achromatic Digital Backs

it's a bit of a unicorn in the digital medium back world, even within the Achromatic back world. drevil's contax-mount version is even more of a unicorn. they're pretty scarce, even more so than the IQ260/3100/4150 Achro's. great to see a member out there making use of one and sharing images...

    Who is the X2D for?

In the age of *digital* medium format, full-frame medium format has been thrown around for years to mean 40x54mm sensor whereas cropped is 33x44mm. It's all marketing talk and I think it's kind of a waste of time to discuss IMHO. It's all relative anyway, and what it means will change...

    HB XCD 120 macro discontinued?

Seems like they're gradually phasing out the "old" body style lenses in favor of the new V lens style. I still wish they'd do a 75-150 zoom or something like that.

Question: Hassy H5D-40 vs Phase one XF IQ1 40

I’d go with the hassy but just because of better long exposure capability (256 sec max with no dark frame on the Hassy vs 60 sec max with dark frame on the IQ140, at least I think my numbers are right).
