    Hasselblad 20-35 Test Images

IBIS might be impacting the tests as well? I'd do the test on a tripod with IBIS off, I have seen another camera with an IBIS issue making all lenses look bad. After a repair all was fine. YMMV :)

Quick pulse check – MFD mid 2024

Wrapping up the Semester, grading this weekend, finishing two consulting projects early this coming week, then heading to the ocean for R&R and photography. An observation, historically after GetDPI is down for a week things take a while to pick back up, and it is that time of year.......Paul you?

    Who is the GFX for?

The GFX system has a far wider choice of lenses, in general faster operation, better auto focus system, a larger team to develop cameras and firmware (although not as big as you might expect), multiple bodies at multiple price points (GF50s II, GFX100sII and GFX100II), a focal plane shutter...

    Who is the X2D for?

This is a very interesting thread. I'll add that once you get the Fuji GFX100II (or others in the family) setup to your preferences you can pretty much ignore the menu structure. If your range of projects is very wide (stills, video, portrait, etc.) then you might have to adjust things from one...

Rob, thank you for the kind words, Glenn

    Who is the X2D for?

I've not seen most of Lloyd's issues, or been able to recreate them either, going back well more than a decade-and-a-half :) Focus breathing as an issue in focus stacking: yes that one is lens specific, very real and very well understood, test before you buy, I don't thing any value was added...

    Who is the X2D for?

Your question is going to result in a different conclusion from just about everyone. FWIW for me I don't view the X2D as a filler for anything, it is quite unique and for my landscape and fine art work it is the only camera I use. The X1Dii was a bit trickier since it was limited and quirky...

    L-Bracket for GFX100II Discovery

This may be old news? The Kirk L-bracket for the GFX100S fits the GFX100II, its not 100.000000% perfect, you have to carefully hold the front lip against the body and leave a bit of slack on the L-side for it to be aligned. The Rogetti L-bracket also fits, again not as perfect as it could be...

    Free agent. X2D vs GFX

Rob, you just haven't looked deep enough :) I teach art making and it can get just as intense...... The watercolor artists argue the most: about papers (Arches versus ....), paints such as Windsor & Newton versus Sennelier versus ...., tubes versus blocks, and don't even get started on W&N...

    Fujifilm GFX100 II Teaser Video

Now of course the pressing issue is when will we get an L-bracket and from who? :)

    Medium Format and Coffee

Anyone, congratulations on the digital back. Where did you get that Kuksa? That's one of the most elegant modern designs I've seen for a Kuksa. I've never seen that one in all my many trips to Finland, can you share where you got it? Kind regards, Glenn

leaving medium format and use "just" FF? X2D vs SL2 (or SL3)

Good choice Dennis, that was going to be my 2 cents :) For a very small travel kit I've been using the X2D, 30 XCD, 45p and 90 XCD (which is pretty darn close to my Leica M system of many decades 24, 35 and 75). The Hassy system all fits into a Ryker shoulder bag from Wotancraft, small and...

Advantages of using Hasselblad C/CF/CFI/CFE lenses with XV adapter on X1D/X2D/907x vs CF II 50v on a 5xx body with the Cxx lenses

Ah, reading messages serially, this already well discussed by jog and others :). I definitely have to get the XV adaptor out with the X2D! ----------- The 40 FLE has significant CA/LoCA and corner issues + smearing, the 40 FLE IF is very good. The 60 CF had corner issues, the center is good...

Advantages of using Hasselblad C/CF/CFI/CFE lenses with XV adapter on X1D/X2D/907x vs CF II 50v on a 5xx body with the Cxx lenses

WRT b). like KC_2020 I also use a Flexbody, in the studio and sometimes in the field, with the CFV50cII since it takes advantage of the leaf shutters in the V lenses and avoids e-shutter issues. I have an old 501 and 503cwd and that is fun with the CFV back, however if I'm going to go to that...

    907X funky corner at f/32

Doc, you are a fountain of wisdom :) Do you know if these are the right part numbers for Chemtronics canned air that you use: ES1020R‎ for the refill can (about $23 at Digi-Key) ES710V for the chrome trigger for 1020 (about $37 at Digi-Key) No mention of "all-way" on the ES1020R refill? :)...

    Hasselblad X2D first impressions

Yes, Howard brings up a critical point. The fff files are lossless compressed so you save a lot of disk space. Howard, do you know if ALL of the calibration data is maintained in the fff files? I've never tested that and I will when I'm back home. I would guess the answer is yes. LRc of...

    Hasselblad X2D first impressions

Antonio, my workflow continually evolves since the software keeps changing. I am Apple Mac-based. Back in the H3Dii-39 days LR didn't handle 3FR files, until around 2009 or so (memory is foggy on exact date) LR (ACR) could import the 3FR file but not apply the corrections that Phocus could...

    Hasselblad X2D first impressions

Jon, It is hard to separate the lenses/rendering from the camera/sensor/processing and then it all get transposed by the RAW processor, and of course it is personal and subjective - now with the disclaimers out of the way :) ........ These days I mostly shoot landscape, urban landscape, a bit...
