A Banksia



Banksia is a genus of around 170 species of flowering plants in the family Proteaceae.
These Australian wildflowers and popular garden plants are easily recognised by their characteristic flower spikes, and woody fruiting "cones" and heads.
The plant species was named after Sir Joseph Banks who was a 'naturalist' aboard James Cook the Endeavour.

Thanks Bart, I'm still amazed at how well my 16 year old Sony A700 still works. I attribute that to a lot of Minolta DNA in that camera design
