Some sad news from Germany.
Mr. Dedo Weigert, who lived and worked mainly in Munich, has passed away. He was best known in the film industry for developing the Dedolight lighting systems, for which he received a Technical Achievement Oscar in 1991. In the early 2000s, he introduced another lighting system, earning a Scientific and Engineering Oscar and an Emmy in 2003. Since the end of September 2025, Dedo Weigert Film has been under insolvency administration.
