Hi guys

I have a new Silex MK II kit with Canon EF adapter OR Hassy H adapter OR Contax for 2599 CHF / 2850 USD all-in incl. one adapter plus all needed elements.

List price is 9k USD! If you want multiple adapters - let's talk!

I don't need it as I have an Alpa FPS since a few weeks and have decided to let go of my Silex items in my Alpa collection.

Kit contains everything needed to directly attach the Silex to any Alpa, including a TC to control the aperture of the lenses and release them.

The killer application is IMHO is the TC with the Silex + Canon EF + TSE.

Contents:
+ Silex MK II controller with batteries and charger - allows for release of electronic shutter and focus bracketing
+ ELA adapter to attach electronic lens module to the Alpa body - this connects to the electronic adapter
+ Arri connector for 360 tilt of Silex around body
+ Canon EF or Hassy H electronic adapter MK II - allows for aperture control; I also have a Contax adapter if of interest - glass has even more shift
+ Phase One cable - triggers ES; for Hassy contact me and I'll check price with Alpa and will reduce this accordingly
+ Original boxes

->> THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO DIRECTLY USE YOUR EXISTING CANON OR HASSY LENSES ON A DIGITAL BACK

You can mount Canon TSE glass, especially the 17, 24, 50 or Hassy glass on your Alpa camera.

With the Hassy adapter you can use the Hasselblad Macro lens which can be bought for sub 1k with flash in the studio.

Combined with an Alpa shift body, you get even more shift!

As Canon lenses already include shift, you can actually with an Alpa TC have a very compact system.

The HC 28 has lens correction profiles in C1 and therefore this is an easy way to get a 28mm lens for any back without LCC requirements for sub 1k on ebay.

Can ship from the EU or Switzerland. Shipping at cost, pls. enquire for shipping out of the EU.

Payment via bank wire in Swiss Francs.

I have ample references and am happy to jump on a call to explain more about this kit. Pics upon request.

I think especially given the low price of H glass this kit is a must have for any Alpa owner. I have the FPS already, so its a duplication, but if you don't, the benefit is especially:

H28 / H35 with C1 distortion correction, on top of course portraiture with the 100 2.2 or the tele 300.

Let's also not forget that you can use the macro lens with flash sync given its a LS lens.

All H glass is underpriced right now - LCC free 28mm or macro at 1k ... that's incredible value!

I think I also saw some macros go for 1k ish? That's literally dirt cheap for top notch glass.

The Silex allows you to use this glass completely independently of the H system bodies, meaning also any future digital backs - so the glass investment is protected and future proofed and its nice ofc if you already have this glass sitting around.

And with the Canon EF version of the adapter you can control the widest full frame covering lens, the 17 TSE, ofc.

Silex MK II can control these too ...

1737658411882.jpeg

Meaning x shutter alternative for all backs except IQ4 ... you can even remove the shutter and put it in another lens... and Alpa can reprogram the lenses wiith new profiles to match aperture geometry.

Some true gems become accessible with the Silex ...

Sinaron eshutter 90, 120 Macro ... 55 digital ...

The other great thing is that the eShutters you can salvage from these ebay bargains are the only pathway to electric shutters on hasselblad backs via Silex ...

The cost to convert will be costly and there are no assurances that the e-Shutter can be made to fit all lenses. Check with ALPA (I believe they are the only ones that can do this conversion) first to make sure they can make it work with your lens and get a quote.

There are lens profiles for most lenses available and Alpa can program them. If anyone is considering a Silex for the purpose of remounting ebay purchased Sinaron eShutter lenses I can happily check the target lens' compatibility and revert.

There are lens profiles available for SK lenses as well.

If you do not own an IQ4 and want electric aperture control this is the easy way to do it.

These shutters only work with the Silex MK II.

And the eShutters depicted here are 1/125, ie not the e250 variants. e250 has 250 written on them.

So the Silex MK II with the Contax module allows you to rise 10ish mm ON A FULL FRAME BACK, ie even more on the Hassy one on Contax Zeiss Distagon MF lenses - these are severly underpriced; its Zeiss, so very good sharpness and contrast.

Another gem of the Contax system is the 140 / 2.8:

1737842067380.jpeg

Very sharp. In the XF world you have the ultra heacy 150 2.8, but this one is extremely good as well and costs ...

1737842151701.jpeg
350-500 bucks ...

So to summarize:

Canon world: 17TSE, 24TSE, 50TSE ... 85 1.2 MK II (covers IQ4 with vignetting, but not bad)
Hassy world: 28, 50 MK II, 120 Macro, 300 ...
Contax: 140 2.8, 35, 45 ...
Sinaron digital eShutter lenses for 1k a pop, incl. the 90 Sinaron Digital which is very sharp and is symmetric .. unlike the 90 SW which is retrofocus, 120 Macro, 55, etc.
eShutter 250 as only X shutter alternative for backs below IQ4 and for Hassy backs.

Not bad.

Let's also not forget:

1737842740850.jpeg

The legendary lens for C645 - the 80 / 2.0 Planar AF; its literally the reason wedding photographers plunk down 6k for a contax camera ...

I have all the lens modules separately and can bundle them up with the FPS or the Silex.

On the FPS you can do walkaround portraiture with the 80 / 2.0.
