A steam-hauled excursion train is seen leaving Picton, NSW on Saturday 21st September this year. To anyone with an interest in these matters, this scene is quite intriguing. The locomotive was built 1952 by North British in the UK. It was to be the last class of express passenger locomotive built for Victorian Railways. They operated on the broad 5'3" gauge that predominated in that state. The loco. has now been converted to standard gauge (4'8.5") and as such is operating on the main lines of NSW, where it could never have ventured originally. She's seen hauling NSW stock. Oh, and she's also been converted to burn oil instead of coal. To the purist, it's totally unauthentic - but it does look rather good IMO.
