I made a quick trip to the zoo this overcast morning to try the new XF 500mm f5.6 lens. The photos are all resized JPGs with little or no adjustments. The biggest issue was being too close to some of these bigger animals. I should add that starting with RAW and editing with DxO Photolab 7 improves things, but these came our nicely anyway.

The lens handles well on the X-T5. My only issue is when I do not have the aperture ring locked on A, it too easily moves and before I know it, I have f16 or f22 photos on the LCD.

This is at a national target archery event called the Gator Cup in Florida. This was actually last May as part of the Olympic trials. I shot the event, but not for a position on the Olympic team--I shoot in a different bow division.

The archer you see here is Brady Ellison. He would represent the United States in the Paris Olympics. It would also be his fifth Olympic Olympics. He took home the sliver for the men's individual.

You will need to click through to see the match. To put the video into context. The distance is 70m. The 10 ring is 12.2 cm in diameter.

On a spin with XM5/XF27 F2.8 doing high contrast across and other things... around the Game Developer Conference in SF. Hmm some of these are DXo converted so no across.
