I caved despite my initial reservation about lack of IBIS. Love the small size and that great Zeiss f/2 Sonnar. Still looking for a good raw processor. Lightroom Classic will not import the ARW raw files, despite being supported in latest Camera Raw update. Work around is to first convert raws to DNG either with Bridge or DNG Converter. Alternative processors that will open raws directly are Topaz Photo AI or Luminar Neo. Two sample images from first walk with camera at the Cornell arboretum ponds.

Looks great! But this is why I avoid handling new gear unless I'm prepared to buy it on the spot :p

Very nice! Did you own the RX1rII? I had that camera for a bit, but always found it a challenge to hold well and ended up selling it. I'm enamored with the idea of a small camera, but the ergonomics can be a challenge. I had the RRS grip, which was nice but felt like it defeated the purpose.

The copy I had also was bought second hand and the lens optically never wowed me, contrary to the rave reviews of others. It always left me wondering. I'd love to own this updated version to satisfy my curiosity, but I think the price tag will keep me at bay. :)

Hi Graham,
Yes I previously owned both RX1R and the RX1RII. I also had issues with handling and lack of IBIS . So far with version 3 I'm not having these issues but I can't say why. There is some new grippy material on both the front and small area for thumb in back that helps. I have not purchased the thumb rest and lens shade and most likely will not. Shooting in A mode with auto ISO. I've only had a few blurry images that resulted from hand shake. No issues with the lens.
