Lens Collar for Sony 90/2.8 Macro G OSS

Hi everyone,

I’ll be using the Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G lens on a Sony A7R IVA mounted to a Bogen CS copy stand for camera scanning. Since this setup will likely remain on the copy stand for extended periods and the lens is fairly heavy, I’d like to add a lens collar to take some stress off the camera mount.

I haven’t been able to find a collar specifically made for this lens—does anyone have recommendations for a compatible option or a good workaround?

The only thing I know of is a Manfrotto 293 . It is for telephoto lenses. It has a strap to keep a lens against the lens rest.

I use that collar for shooting with the Blad 250SA + mutar on a tripod.

It works fine, but the quick release is proprietary. A real pain for me, but doesn't sound like that would be a problem for your intended use.
