Hi,

can anybody tells me if we can print this size with good tonality and sharpness form a x1D II or a 4x5 inch scan?
how many dpi would you recommend?

All the best Michael

1000 x 1400 ... cm? kilometers? ...

Recommended pixels per inch input to printer varies with viewing distance. A hand held print, 300 ppi is great, 180 ppi is at the boundary of acceptable. A wall print seen 4 meters away can go lower, a billboard along a highway maybe 50.

Print a small sample, view it at the expected viewing distance, and make your judgment.

I am assuming mm? If so and assuming you're printing on paper, you can get away with 240 ppi. If you're printing on canvas, you probably can halve that. If you're talking cm or inches, you can go a lot less, like 80 or even 50.
