Schneider Kreuznach Apo-Digitar 5.6/43mm XL-102 MC in Arca R-Mount

Sorry for the earlier confusion — it wasn’t my intention to make things complicated. I’m still not entirely certain about the exact market value, but to comply with the forum rules I am now setting a clear asking price.

Condition note: there is some minor cosmetic wear at the filter rim of the lens. This resulted from my earlier workflow: when I started with this lens, I was still focusing on the ground glass, and sometimes had to remove the center filter for critical focusing. This left small traces on the filter rim, which are invisible once the center filter is mounted and have no effect on optical performance. With current digital workflows and live view, this is no longer necessary.

The Center Filter will only be available separately if the lens has already sold.

Regards Peter

Thanks everyone for the strong interest in my Schneider Apo-Digitar XL 43 mm. I’ve received a lot of messages, offers, and even swap ideas from all over the world, which I really appreciate.

To help potential buyers evaluate the lens, I’m sharing two sample files:
  • 43.1 (RAW + LCC): a single shot with about 5 mm of shift, together with the matching LCC calibration frame (so you can process it properly in Capture One).
  • 43.pano (TIFF): a stitched image with approximately ±15–16 mm shift to both left and right. There may also be a slight downward shift. This file may also include a small Scheimpflug adjustment, though I’m not entirely sure. Please note this is already a developed TIFF.
There were done with an Arca Rm3di with a P65+ Back.
I’ll take the weekend to consider everything and will respond to everyone individually.
My aim is to come to a decision and finalize the sale at the beginning of next week.

Thanks again for all the interest!

A short personal note before updating my offer

I just wanted to say that I’m really glad I joined this forum. Over the past days I’ve had the chance to connect with some truly interesting photographers here — people with inspiring projects and impressive websites. I’ve enjoyed the conversations and learned quite a bit, and I’m grateful for that.

Of course, there also seems to be a darker side. A few contacts have felt rather shady: some people never shared their real names, and it’s remarkable how many supposed buyers of high-end photographic gear don’t seem to have an online presence — no Instagram, no website, no visible work as photographers. That, combined with attempts to push me into PayPal “Friends & Family” payments or requests to ship to third-party addresses, has made me cautious. I admit that part has been a little frustrating.

That said, I’ve also received valuable advice and much kindness from members here, which I very much appreciate. Overall, I still think this forum is an excellent place.

One last clarification: I cannot personally confirm some of the claims I’ve read here about this lens being an exceptional match for the Phase One IQ4 back. My own experience with the lens comes from using it on a Phase One P65+ digital back, where it has been a wonderful tool.

If in the end the lens doesn’t sell, that’s fine too — I’ll happily keep it as a spare lens for a future project, and I know I’ll enjoy working with it as part of a lighter, smaller setup.
