I dont see many for sale. How does it compare to the Hasselblad X1D2 in terms of Colors and POP

I found 2 in 10 seconds of googling

I had both cameras. The differences were the lenses and the choice of profiles. Their imaging and color capabilities were very similar.

I would say the Hassy maybe shows a little bit more pop, the Leica S shows "smoother" images.
I prefer the Handling and AF accurancy and lower weight size of the Hassy, but I slightly prefer the rendering of the S lenses.

007 prices seem to be in free fall. I paid $1k more roughly a year ago after searching for the best price. I am now seeing them go for $2500 in great condition.

Indeed. I have a friend who picked up four batteries and got a free S(007) and 70mm lens thrown in. :ROFLMAO:

Its a down market ... and the S007 is an old camera. I played with one 9 years ago ... in the S world there's the excellent Tier 1 rare glasses: S100 and S24 and the others below that with the S45 also being a bit rare. CS gets a premium.

S70 is very common - it's like the kit lens.

I think prices will pick up again on the glass side once the S4 hits the market as it'll be retro-compatible.

I have had a Leica S2 and a brand new S007 a couple years ago. Lost some money when I later switched my gear to go into the Fuji GFX world.
Since two weeks I’m in the lucky situation to have again a Leica S007 with 35, 70 and 120 … all pristine condition and running.

If you know, what you are looking for, personally this is the system that gives me the most joy of use besides technical cameras. With its extraordinary image quality it is definitely enough for my restricted capabilities and my printing sizes stopping ~ 1m in the long side, but typically being around a3+ or so.

The viewfinder is excellent and handling that restricted autofocus system - in cases when „we“ hit - is much more fulfilling than the satisfaction that I have with stellar sharp pictures that I had made with my Sony A9 or Canon R5: you can not miss a subject they are just perfect.

I know this is purely about emotions that I gain from handling this beauty again. And for sports and action I am back to mft with Panasonic G9 II which was also with us on the family trip (for those snapshots that we love to put into our photoboo

Back to the topic: I am doubting a little bit that prices will go down much further. There are not thousands of bodies and lenses around and enthusiasts are going to play around with the system. But for sure: pure personal opinion wouldn’t bet my house on this 😃

I've never owned one, but it owns my heart. Along with the original dp-Merrills there's just something magical in the colors and rendering to this mainly-film photographer.

What Helge says about joy is so important to me, too. I shoot mainly with a Mamiya 7 and a HB 500 c/m. I "know" that the Mamiya is a better camera (for how I shoot) and the lenses are beyond compare. But I nearly always reach for the the Blad. It's the joy.

I almost bought an S007 recently, but enough is enough.
