This one just for a laugh, I am actually very surprised how this has turned out, as a cropped image of the moon tonight. ISO 12,500, F 7.1, 1/8 th, Exp Comp -0.6.

Birch flowers --- using a Red filter on a beautifully sunny afternoon's stroll. ISO 320, F8, 1/50th, Exp. Comp -0.6

Out walking, nothing else much to do, and it is sunny so why not! Red filter used.

We took a walk up to Lower Enfield Falls at the bottom of the gorge. Snowmelt water was roaring out of the gorge along with a chilly wind. Q2M with B+W orange filter. Two portrait orientation shots stitched in Photomerge.

One more from the Enfield gorge area. This was near the trail to the lower falls where picnic tables were piled up ready to distribute along the way. Two shots stitched in Photomerge.

I've an old friend who doesn't do a lot of photography, but he's fallen in love with the look of Leica Monochrom images. I borrowed a Q2M for him, but while I had it, I had to try it out on my most discerning subject.

In a day or two, we are going on a photo walk. I'll bring the S3 with the 35mm lens (same FoV) and we can compare my BW conversions to the Monochrom's. I expect it will be a very interesting exercise!

I owned an Q2M until I bought the M10M. Someday I’ll buy another. The 28mm shines at f1.7.

Went for a walk with friend and Q2 M. One of his first shots. It's a ... brick wall (it was my idea, so blame me).


He may well get one. Still dealing with sticker shock. Oh, and S3 B&W conversion was certainly no better. And a lot heavier.

Not surprised the S3 small medium format image cannot beat the Q2M FF image when converted to B&W.

I have just acquired a Q2 Monochrom - kind of a return to my childhood B&W film days. Although I normally lurk in the MF Forum, I hope to post here too in coming days. What I've seen of my test files so far is astonishing!

This isn't great art but a scene with lots of fine detail. Taken at f8/ISO 400. I have just made a 36 by 24 inch print and the detail and microcontrast is stunning - and completely noiseless.
