I was able to put the lens right into this guy's face and get a few pix before I touched a wing and it took off. You can kind of see the hexagons of the eyeball. That is not pixelation, pic is 100% crop, no post processing.
Dragonfly. - Ricoh GRDII
Another little critter, mantas, friend of dragonfly. Again, no post processing, 100% crop, Ricoh GRDII.
I spent some time this afternoon with this mantas and a D2Xs w/Zeiss 100 macro. If I can figure out how to do it I will upload some pix. Every time I see one of these critters up close I am thankful they area only 6-inches, not 6-ft, or we would be on their dinner menu.

Last one from the GRD... Just so that you can see the mouth on these things. I used the 40mm lens converter for this one, didn't realize there was dust on the back of the element, which the GDR reproduced wonderfully.
Anyways, look at the mouth!!! No post processing, 100% crop.
