Nice to be back photographing with a smaller camera system rather than my usual D850 600mm f4 (Birding rig up)
First impressions its nice and compact/light and fits well in my larger hands. I initially bought the body with the 135mm XCD lens.......I was surprised how big that 135 lens is but saying that it fits well on the body. The other three lenses that I took with me were the Zeiss Otis 55mm. Hasselblad Disappointment V 50mm CFi and the Hasselblad 250mm Super Combat (haven't tried that puppy yet)
The Zeiss Otis vinegaretts like a bitch............I won't be using that again...below

The Hasselblad V Disapointment 50mm CFI worked not to bad but its heavy and not exactly sharp sharp..........below are a few examples

The 135mm XCD renders beautifully but at this particular location I didn't have that much use for its FOV

I have a XCD 45p hopefully arriving today and the 80mm f1.4 on order expecting to get that lens before Christmas so my travel photography set up will be X1D II 135mm, 80mm and 45P.........I might take the 250mm super combat if I think that might get used (model shoot, something like that) and if I find the 45 not wide enough then I will get the 30mm XCD lens as I have seen and heard good reviews about that lens.............Pictures to follow

The 45P works great with static objects but as soon as you attempt at something that moves a little, it starts to get a little annoying with its slow auto-focusing.

You could say that about all of the XCD lenses, I suppose, but they still usually focus faster than I can manual focus...

Nice work and glad you are having fun with your new gear. One thing to try with the Otis is using a 3:2 aspect ratio. It should eliminate the vignette (but you also lose a few MP).

I never thought of that, that's a good idea.
In the meantime my travel bag will just hold 3 XCD lenses 135, 80, 45p.......if I have a particular shoot that will require one of my Nikon or V lenses then I have the hardware to make that work............I used to shoot M glass all the time so I plan to use the X1D with the 45p the same as my M10 and M lenses.........Manual focus with that beautiful IVF and focus peking

Sounds good. I use a Fuji GFX 50r and most of my lenses are older 35mm manual focus. I have one native AF lens and one older 645 lens.

Don't you like your salads simple? More seriously, yes, take the vignette into account when you compose the shot. In post process, you can crop off the sides, or off the top and bottom, or some of both.
