This looks like being a very interesting camera in the GFX system. Hopefully it will have a CFE B and SD slot, use the same charger and batteries as the 100S, would be nice to have ND filters built in too.

Amazing - the camera has yet to be announced. Where did you find it ?
I only said to my dealer, when you get them in I want to have a look and if I like it, I buy one. I may know more in the next 3 or 4 days, as to when and if I get lucky. That is as far as it goes presently.

I love the concept, I have owned an X100 series camera of one sort or another for the last 12 years. Last year I took the plunge with the Leica Q3 which is an excellent camera though the lens and hood make it less of a compact.

The GFX 100RF is definitely interesting but I feel the f/4 lens may be a little limiting, particularly if the camera has no ibis. Then again if one views it in a similar vane to a film camera such as Plaubel Makina W67 or the GF 667W it will certainly appeal to many photographers.

@Knorp- the only option is black :)

It's a very interesting model for sure. I want to see one. Given the size it is a non starter for me (not trying to. say a sa camera critique- it's small for what it is and def. a step forward in compactness). It sure seems it could fulfill an all-in one camera.

My only beef so far from what I have read is that given the F4, at night I would have to shoot at higher ISO (not much problem for this MF it seems) but the auto ISO still rolls to only 12800. I would really like Fuji to give the option to roll it to 51,200 with the appropriate warnings/disclaimers they must feel they need to do on image quality impact.

Or at least 32,000.

It's better/easier to capture sudden situations at night on the street I think.

Lack of IBIS doesn't bother me because I am regularly shooting at 1/125-1/250. IBIS doesn't freeze movement. And one can always shoot at 1/28 given the camera uses a left shutter and has some heft so has more momentum.

Jonas Arask was talking about shooting it even at 1/15s but I don't consider him the most objective source :) (Huge kudos to him for disclosing himself on that though!).

For me an optical viewfinder would have made it much more appealing. They're competing with a Q3 series, in that market price point is probably not the first consideration for someone looking for a high end compact. A hybrid OVF / EVF would have probably raised the price somewhat, but would have also made it a real competitor to not only the Q series but the Leica M series. The slower lens is a down side but I think photographers who are at home with older film MF cameras such as a Plaubel or GF 670/667 would not have any issue with it.

No doubt it will be an excellent camera and Fuji will have a lot of success with it, but it's not for me.

Not only that, but a lot of people act like every new camera from every company has to absolutely be their next upgrade or else it's like useless or something :)

I think Fuji created a very interesting proposition - whether I buy one or not. What I am betting on though is that it will sell, pretty much all they make.

It just occurred to me that this dpreview chart is a GAS METER composite... (as of March 23, 11:46 AM PST). Never quite seen that high % like that though before.

it is very cool, has that Mamiya 6/7 or Plaubel Makina 67 feel to it. I got my son an X100T years ago, still in use. I can see this GFRF having a classic appeal. I haven't used a camera (besides my phone) in 4-5 months now. But the GFRF and a small travel tripod would make a nice kit. Very portable MF and cropping down to FF equiv with good DOF. Does it not need a BSI sensor because it's a fixed lens?

@PeterA - I am really trying to avoid, and convinced myself I won't, but I came back to look at what I have done and see if I do. So who knows, but I am just trying to make sure I avoid a GAS decision, and I get to really use this a lot because I already have too much good gear as it is.

If I was a daylight photographer it's an easy answer, but slightly more than half my work is at night.

Being a fixed lens doesn't really matter for having BSI, but it's a BSI anyway.
