PureRAW 2, upgrade?

Launched recently, yesterday or today? Upgrade or not. Has anybody tried? Is it as fast as they claim?

I bought it and tried it. Does an impressive job of extracting detail and sharpening while of my Xtrans images, but the result is very unnatural and I much prefer the result from Capture One. Don't think I'll use it often if at all.

Was it PureRAW 2 you bought? I already have the original version, and is very happy with it, but would like to know how much version 2 has improved (except for processing time).

Greetings Jorgen,
First of all I would like to say I have often looked at and admired the images you have posted without having the curtesy to say so, for which I apologize
I bought the version 2 because, unlike version 1, it can process fuji RAF files. The DNG files it produces are, to my taste, over-sharpened and with haloes.
If I could find a way to reduce the extremely digital appearance I might appreciate it more. I will study the possibilities doctoring the results, but as I remarked before Capture One provides truly excellent results without interrupting a smooth workflow and at my age (85) I don't want to spend too much time on this.

Thank you for your feedback, Maurice. PureRAW doesn't always render good result, and the lack of manual options is a clear weakness. Also, since this is the first version that can handle Fuji files, there may be things that will have to be "ironed out" with updates based on user experience.

The way I use it by processing entire folders with all images of a shooting session. Since the program runs by itself, I can do other things while it's processing. For the files that look improved after processing, I import those DNG files to ACR and do other adjustments. In cases where the original RAW files look better, I use Topaz de-noise and/or sharpening instead. The only downside that I see to this method is that the DNG files from PureRAW take up a considerable amount of hard disk space, but hard disks are luckily cheap these days, so I just let them remain there, and on my backup disks.

You have the option of turning off global sharpening and/or lens optical corrections when processing files in PureRaw (both version1 and version2).
