When will the Hasselblad X2D firmware update be released that unlocks multi-shot features?

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering when the firmware update for the Hasselblad X2D will be released that will enable the multi-shot functions? Since I often make painting reproductions, this would be an important feature.
Karl Taylor made the update palatable to us with a video on November 7, 2024.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Best regards,
budi

Für mich würde es ausreichen, die Software zu bekommen. Karl Tyler profitiert offensichtlich davon, da es bereits eine Beta-Version gibt. Warum wird sie nicht veröffentlicht?

Let's hope they didn't publish it because it is not stable enough yet, and not because they want to make it a feature of the upcoming models only.

Maybe that's why we're waiting longer for updates from Phocus. The new camera may already be integrated in the next version.

Since reproductions of paintings in the studio are actually always done with a cable connection to the computer, I don't need the function on the camera to check the result straight away. The performance of the Hasselblad X2D is completely sufficient for me, which is why I don't want to wait for the next camera. Hopefully there will be a Phokus Desktop update soon.

Agreed on the Phocus desktop upgrade - including hopefully their AI noise filter option. Else - I do not even need multi-shot on that thing.

I'd use my X2D for a lot more than landscapes and commercial work if I could make some basic in-camera adjustments to the jpeg settings, especially black and white. I don't need or want raw files all the time but the out of camera jpegs come out super flat.

1 I have no idea how this relates to the multishot firmware update :) 2. Interesting, I don’t think I felt the need to use an OOC jpg in 20 years, but I guess we are all different

It’s the only recent post I could find related to firmware. I use jpegs all the time for on the spot quick turn around for some clients when I don’t want to deal with a computer or iPad to break up the cadence of the shoot.

Would make sense. Since a Mark II presumably uses much of same hardware (same sensor, same housing) the software, possibly together with a more powerful processor, must be the differentiator.

The new camera could have a more powerful processor/memory system that can handle multi-shot in-camera.

Of course there is Fuji and the GFX but it takes 16 shots and is next to impossible to work with ( at least from my experience). Hasselblads leaked video showed 400MP in 6 shots which caught everyone’s attention months ago but so far that version of Phocus is vapor ware to the public. Personally I can’t understand what has held up the release unless it’s due to the new X2DII coming out in May.

Exactly. So, currently there is precisely a list of 0 cameras with 400MP 6 shots multishot available 😅
I also hate the GFX 16shot implementation, I’ve been struggling with it ever since it came out.
And I do hope Hasselblad will not make the 400MP available just on the newer cameras, and artificially keep the X2d limited to 4 shots.

Just checking - has anyone answered the OP's question?

If not, here it is: No one knows.
